1. What is HDR?
HDR means High Dynamatic Range imaging technology. You may see it in your mobile HDR or HDR+. Technologically it is the same, but in your mobile it maybe for photo only, not for video.
Now we are taking about this HDR function for video.

3. How it works?
Now HDR only works in 1080P30fps mode(and 720P30fps). The CPU actually runs in 1080P60fps, and make two frames into one frame. That's why HDR mode looks a little blur and the power comsumption is much bigger that FullHD 30fps. It is especially useful at the early morning and near the sunset, while normal DVR will have some blind areas because of the brightness dynamic is too big(some area is too bright, and some area is too dark).
